Hi,

Hope all is well your side. I have been very happy with the Chip-it the past 5 months.

About a month or 2 ago I decided to go back to the tune you originally tested on the dyno and found that my consumption has improved slightly over the past few tankfuls. Your first tune seems to be the best compromise.

Today I took the car in for it’s 45,000 km service, so I removed the Chip-it and EGR blank beforehand. The iMax felt like a lame duck without the chip!

If I fit the EGT sensor, are you then able to do a more aggressive tune?

How long will it take? When would be best to arrange it? Thanks.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for all your assistance in my time of need.  I had been stranded for days and saw no light at the end of the Mitsubishi Tunnel after my factory fitted DPF (Diesel Particular Filter) had a catastrophic failure.

A quick email to let you know that I tracked the cause of the vibration down to the piggy back chip (not Chip It) that I was using at the time.   Although not evident prior to the Auto transmission upgrade, it was there afterwards.

As a result I have taken that old chip off and have now purchased a new system from “Chip It Australia Pty Ltd”.   Like you guys, they also advertise through 4wd Action and have a brilliant product.

“Of interest to 2.5HP Triton / Challenger Owners.

 

Recently, two 2.5HP DID owners have managed to separate a piston crown. One was well under 20,000ks and both on a stock standard engine (No Chip)!!!!   Both of them had logged an under-boost CEL Error but driven on until the failure!   The under-boost problem appears to be a common issue with the VGT set-ups even in standard form.  Some MMA dealers say they believe the problem is now temperature related.

 

Seems that in some cases, if the VGT system logs an under-boost condition, you won’t always go to a full limp mode, what in-fact happens is the electronic VGT controller is disabled via the ECU.  This is very noticeable with a loss of power and excessive smoke, the turbo can and does provide some boost with the higher RPM and throttle applications.

 

If the engine is not shut down and CEL reset whilst running in an under-boost condition, the combustion temps will rise epically under moderate load as a result of over-fuelling!

 

I personally have had this condition more than once in the early stages, but saved the engine due to the EGT and boost gauges.    Chased the problem down to EGR system related as disabling the TB totally eliminated the issue.  (Doing this makes a soft code with no limp of course)

 

In short, the EGR system works by:

  1.  partially closing the throttle body on the intake when engine is in overrun or idle; (This makes a vacuum effect)
  2. the EGR valve opens to let the hot soot in.

If either of the above don’t happen as they should we then see the under boost CEL.  The problem is aggravated should anyone fit a solid EGR blank but has same outcome.

 

Two Tritons with new engines are coming over in the near future for pyro installs and TB bypass mod  ( Several ways to achieve this and it helps overcome some of  the pressure differences caused by the EGR system functioning or malfunctioning) which I really recommend as have on my own Triton.

 

Most dealers won’t have any part with installing aftermarket equipment such as pyrometers but do encourage we do have them fitted?   It should be standard equipment in my opinion!

 

Some dealers are still at a loss as MMA have had several others with the same symptoms.

Apparently, MMAL have finally recognised there” may” be an issue with some of the factory software on the 2.5’s and I believe they did warrant the failures as were in standard trim and correctly serviced etc.

 

As far as I know, the owners had reported the issue of engine light coming on whilst towing in the past, the dealer read the code then cleared it. Unable to replicate the issue, sent them back out in the wild.

 

Just shows, big torque and HP aren’t always the killer…. High temps, big revs and/or detonation even at lower power outputs will cause more catastrophic results almost every time!

Hi Chip It

Purchased a chip for my hilux 2010 model 4×4.

I thought you might be interested in the feedback on your system.

Using folder 1 tune 5.  The standard clutch has issues with the additional torque in 4th and 5th.  This was expected as hilux clutches are marginal at best. icon smile Testimonials

Overall rating: Excellent product.

Fuel consumption has dropped from mid 10’s to 9.2 lt per 100klms will easily go sub 9’s around town only, this is about what I expected with my EGR disabled.  Excellent considering I am running 33” BF mud terrains and a 4 inch lift.

Recently I had my mechanic install Chip-It in my 06 Navara D40.  The extra power is unbelievable!  My mechanic could not believe the extra power and a few people who been in my car since have asked is my car a V6.  Not only more power but my fuel ecomony was 9km/ltr before Chip It but I am now receiving 9.5/ltr … and this around town!  So what more can I say than THANK YOU CHIP IT, what a great product.

I need to tell you how happy with the system supplied by Chip It & fitted at your Sydney Dealer Mitchell Bros.

Firstly I must say how pleased I am to have an Aussie product that works so well.  I looked at both the UK & European chip options & I am glad I did as the service from both Chip-it &  Mitchell Bros has been excellent

My rig with the 5th Wheeler is 24 foot & weights 2950kg (3400kg fitted out with our gear).  The tow unit is a Colorado 3lt 4 cyl turbo / auto & at 3400kg it is only 100kg short of its legal limit & that’s where my problems started.

On its maiden trip Brisbane to Dubbo (no chip) I was dismayed at the at the poor performance.  Fuel consumption was 3.5km/lt & it had little or no torque.  In fact, it almost didn’t get up the Toowoomba ranges.  Once on top of the range the ute was mainly in 3rd & 2nd gear rarely getting into 4th, foot flat to the floor & no hope of passing even a farmer in an old ute!  Basically it was hopelessly under powered.  So I had 2 choices: try the chip/exhaust or buy an F-truck.  As the chip/exhaust was $3500 vs about $30k change over for the F-truck.  After talking to Justin I went the Chip-it Module (fitted by Mitchell Bros) and a bigger exhaust.

WELL, what can I say? Thrilled, staggered …  I drove out of Narrabeen up the hills to the Newcastle freeway to Brisbane & thought I had a 6 cyl under the bonnet.   I pulled the 5th wheeler up the hills in 3rd almost no 2nd gear  & once on the freeway 110k/hr was easy & up to 130k/hr when passing B doubles but the biggest BONUS apart from massively increased torque was the fuel economy.  I now got 7k/lt … a 100% increase in economy  & even without the 5th wheeler I used to get 10k/lt & now I get 11k/lt a 10% increase plus heaps of POWER … even wheel spin !!!

I am happy to recommend this product for you & I’m even happy to take calls if anybody wants to ring as a reference.

After receiving your May email, I have decided to provide the following feedback to you:

I had bought a 2009 D4D Prado and was looking for advise on gaining extra power and economy out of my vehicle as I tow a 21ft semi off-road van that weighs 1968kg.  I rang Justin and discussed the different types of ways to increase the power and decided to have Chip-It provide and instal the chip unit which is considerably cheaper than others on the market.

I have to admit that Justin would have to be one of the most honest and friendliest person I have meet in the motor trades, and we have become friends through doing business.

Getting back to the unit, he installed it into my Prado D4D automatic which was the first he had done, so I was his guinea pig for this and I immediately noticed an increase in the way the Prado performed.  The pickup and go was very good and the towing characteristics also improved.

Justin also suggested that I install a 3 inch stainless steel exhaust system and a water injection unit to complete the performance package and I am totally impressed by the way my Prado now operates.

I gave my car to my friend and his wife to drive as they have a new Pajero and their comment on returning was they were very impressed by the performance, they have commented they will be having the chip installed as well as they also tow a van.

The customer service provided by Justin and the Chip-It team is first class, I look forward to many miles of enjoyable driving, noting I have the backing of Justin and the Chip-It team to call on at any time.

I recommend Chip-It units to all the people I meet, keep up the good work.

They’re very active on newtriton.net. I think the owner has a Triton.

They seem to have lots of fans amongst the Triton owners. This might in part be due to the price and performance of the chip but also because their chip will override the error flag that gets thrown when you put a blank across the EGR return pipe preventing the vehicle periodically going into limp mode (on the Triton at least).

I have had mine on for a few weeks and cannot believe how good it is.

You may not of heard of them because they are a fairly new company only really starting to get their name out there, but what you get is a quality diesel performance chip for much less than half the price of other brands with more features and the ability to custom tune if you wish. There are different levels of tunes to suit everyone depending on what mods you have on your truck.

It is all pretty much covered on their website, but i can tell you these guys really know their stuff and have been mucking around with performance cars for yonks. They have chips for all the current dual cab diesels and a few other vehicles………..give ‘em a go, you won’t be disappointed.

I had a “Chip It” chip installed on my 200 series cruiser and all I can say is WOW. It feels like the cruiser has lost 500kg of blubber. While the 200 already has heaps of power, it has never felt immediately responsive – my wife describes it as a tank, but she does drive a Mazda CX7 (2.4L turbo petrol rocket). Well now the Chip It 200 has a similar feel!

Gone is that initial lethargic feeling and its replaced with lively acceleration from a gentle prod. And stick the boot in and you really feel the difference. I have never chirped all 4 tyres from a standing start before (brake on – apply throttle, then release brake with full throttle) and the TRC didn’t cut in because all 4 were chirping!

As we all know (well owners do), the 200 does have a bit of “turbo lag” for want of a better word – give it full throttle from idle and it thinks for 1/2 a second before getting down to business. The Chip It has certainly reduced that lag. It is dramatically improved, but not 100% eliminated and in all likely hood probably part of the original ECU programming so that a huge amount of torque is not dumped into CV’s/gearboxes instantaneously.

Perhaps the best bit of the Chip It is that normal everyday driving (ie granny throttle) it has a markedly improved response at much lower rpm. The 200 was accelerating noticeably faster from a lower rpm and not kicking down a gear like it normally would – that to me is going to be noticed every day and is enough reason alone to fit one to a 200.

This fitting was also followed up with a 4wheel dyno run at United Fuel Injection’s premises. Several states of tune were tried, including pushing the settings to the point where the ECU backed off the engine power – very good to see you cannot go outside of pre-determined operating ranges and that the Chip It doesn’t interfere with these protections.

With the 200 being an auto where you cannot lock it into gear, the max power on the dyno graph is only displayed above ~2000rpm, any lower rpm with full throttle and it kicks down a gear. So, the magic peak numbers were;

227kW@3300rpm and 800Nm@3200rpm.

OEM numbers were;

183kW@3200rpm and 595Nm@2600rpm.

This is a gain of some 32kW and 205Nm. Also, the graph shows a reasonably flat torque curve from 2600rpm to over 4000rpm, unlike the OEM that peaked at 2600rpm and tapered off from that point to ~400Nm @ 4000rpm (but don’t forget that below 2000rpm the dyno graph is not full throttle)

As for fuel economy, guess how much throttle I was using icon smile Testimonials However, when I did drive normally on the freeway after the dyno, it did appear to have some 10% better economy according to the scanguage – but I have no idea if this needs recalibrating after the Chip it tweaks to the readings so take with a grain of salt my economy reading – but I will post future fuel consumption over time.

The chip and wiring itself are of a very good quality. The plugs are well made, have O-ring seals and simply plug into the original harness – NO cutting or other modification at all. I used to have a Safari chip on my 3.0GU and it appears to be of equivalent quality. Also, I have a Scanguage and it shows no error codes from the install and according to Chip It the chip is not detectable by Toyota (unless they looked under the bonnet!). Chip It were great to deal with and they spent some 4 hours on fitting, dyno custom tuning and chewing the fat about chips in general. Would I recommend this Chip to anyone – certainly!

I have a 2008 Nissan Patrol CRD and a 2008 Nissan Navara D22 CRD. I fitted one of yours chips to my Patrol and the result was so impresseive that I then purchased one for my Navara as well.

The performance and pulling power of both vechiles has been transformed so much that they are just amazing to drive now from where they were, especially the  D22 Navara.

BACK UP SERVICE & WARRANTY

I would like to say that these guys at chipit in WA are really on the ball when i had a problem with the dps210 module the boys at Chip It couldnt help me enough in resolving the problem.  There were dramas with the module so they just replaced it with their new dps215 module all this was done within 4 days from the time i sent it from Newcastle NSW to the time i had it back in the car from WA. Plus it was only yesterday when i needed some help in resolving a drama with the map mod and justin was only too happy to help as it turned out i had the wires around the wrong way and now it works fine. The after sales service u get from these guys in WA is so fast & helpful it is second to none and im sure im not the only one that has something good to say about there after sales service. Im so glad i ended up getting the chipit setup and its a vast improvement over the dp chip i used to have in all aspects. I have strongly recommended the chipit product to other people that arent associated with this forum. So thanks guys for all your help and standing by your product.

I purchase a Chip for a 4 x4 Hilux SR5 D4d auto. I am extremely impressed with the Chip. I tow a 2 ton caravan and it now pulls up hills in 3rd gear at 90kmh where before it was done to second and 80kmh. Overtake is much better also. I have not changed any settings just plugged in. Just thought you might me interested in this feedback.

Hi Chip It.

I would like to give you some feedback on on my Chip. Firstly your dealer in Nambour, A1 Autos, did a fantastic install … very professional and keen to explain and tune my 2010 Nissan Pathfinder to my requirements, I have recommended them and the Chip It installation to several other travelers.

We have just returned from a (wet trip) to The V8′s and the Melbourne Cup, a round trip of 9300k. We towed a Jayco Off Road van of approx two tonne. After the installation of the Chip, the power had increased by AT LEAST 15% to 20% and the fuel average for the trip was between 14L to 15.L per hundred.

What more can I say except the Chip-it is well and truly worth the investment it does what is claimed.

Hi.

I’m a converted petrol head to a now diesel lover.

My previous cars were a supercharged ss commodore, supercharged XR8 and turbo XR6. These were all running well over 400rwkw.

Now I went and bought myself a diesel D40 manual Navara to slow me down and to stop me spending money.

But guess what I can’t help myself. I discovered CHIP IT after alot of investigating and purchased the Chip It module.

At first was impressed, but then developed the fuel rail issue whereby car would flat line due to fuel limiter on fuel rail doing its job.

Not happy but in discussions with Justin and Steve they came up with a fix.

After the mod was done I reloaded custom 2 tune and was amazed at the increase in power, torque and drivability.

All was well but discovered that she was a bit smoky below 2500rpm.

No problems as I contacted Justin at chipit ,sent him an email of the problem and he subsequently sent me modified tunes.

He did also modify the tune for extra power which I have to admit is a big step up from the previous custom tune 2.

It now starts to make boost alot earlier, make more torque and holds onto power longer in the rev range.

Now what can I say. At no point did I have any issues with CHIPIT. They helped me along the way with the minor issues you get with modifying.

They went out of there way to make sure I was another happy customer.

I received your product last week and installed it in our 2010 Holden Captiva on Saturday. My wife and I travelled from Lyndhurst Victoria to Ballarat Victoria.
Before your product was installed our fuel consumption was 9.8 City driving and Freeway driving was 8.2. But with your Product installed it was 6.7 City driving and 5.9 to 6.1 freeway driving.

All I can say is WOW it really works and the power is amazing.

Initial thoughts? MY GOD

My previous 3rd gear 40kmk to 100kmh was 9.59 seconds. Easy test to replicate. I am running tune 4, not tune 5 which is the super tune. The setup I went for includes the in cab exhaust temp display and the auto reduction in tune if the exhaust hits 560 degrees. 680 degrees is factory maximum I was informed.

In short…if it gets hot it automatically retards the tune to reduce heat build up.

I undertook the 40 – 100 test and I was simply too scared to put the foot flat but the time was 5.63 seconds. I reckon it would easily get under 5 seconds if I was brave enough with existing tune level. Who knows what with the top or custom tunes.

It is simply astonishing.

Inlet manifold temp is down about 30 to 40 % from the scanguage readouts and water temp hasnt changed. It was easy to drill and tap the thread for the exhaust temp gauge immediately post turbo and the whole thing was very easy to fit.

Economy coasting around appears to be better and there is NO turbo lag. Just torque and loads of it.

There is a dump valve in the fuel injection system that will, if it exceeds a certain pressure, dump fuel to stop the system being overpressurised. I cant really see how you can cause a warranty issue unless you spin your wheels everywhere.

I have gone from being a sceptic to thoroughly impressed. Towing will be a breeze and eliminate the 5th / 4th hunt in head winds.

I drove to work this morning and was over 1L/100kms below normal reported consumption. Driving home from a meeting in North Sydney to Penrith, my best ever was 7.3L/100kms. Today I achieved, in some stop / start conditions at time, in rain….

… 6.2L/100kms! I need to verify this with the next fill up but the scanguage will very accurately tell me the truth after a tank or two.

Hmmmmmmm…

All this for under $1300 for the lot.

I didn’t mention before I think but I grabbed the plate to block the EGR pipe off as well. If anyone orders the kit…make sure you ask for this as well.

Started it up and went for a drive, holy crap, I thought I was driving my mate’s Audi q5 3.0 6 cylinder turbo diesel. The thing has soo much more grunt, the best thing ever for a diesel,

Hi Justin

Just a quick note to say how totally happy I am with your chip. I have a 2009 dualcab Hilux and the extra zoom is noticeable across all operating ranges. It pulls up hills in taller gears and higher speeds, holds higher gears longer and has much better highway passing and all this at 8-10% better fuel economy!!

I haven’t experimented with any of the other tune modes (currently no.4 as supplied) as yet but am extremely happy with your product.

Hi Robert,

Some seat of the pants figures for you regarding the DPF Race Pipe for the NS Pajero.

In a several km section of flat-ish road near home, fuel consumption with DPF (stock) was 10.7L/100k.  The same stretch an hour later with Chip It Race Pipe installed = 8.4L/100k.

With DPF in, fuel readout never went below 10.x L/100km – with Race Pipe installed its often well below – and is sometimes as far down as 7.

With DPF in the auto is not often in lockup, but now with it seems to lock up and just lope along happily.

Plus it goes better !!

All the above is without the chip in. Wont be able to accurately give figures with the chip in as it messes with the fuel readout so I did this before it goes in.

Figures were taken doing an indicated 103km/h along the Leneva straight near Wodonga Victoria (see google maps ‘Leneva, Victoria’)

The usual stuff about different vehicles different roads etc etc would apply – but i reckon the 10 – 14% improvement (in a controlled situation) that the NT brags of over the NS can largely be attributed to the DPF I would say.

Our NS auto with Race Pipe in and chip set to 2 out of 10 just romps away from current D4D hilux auto with chip set to 5/10… hee hee… and romps away from ‘08 2.5 diesel Volvo70… even bigger hee hee!

Just an update on the chip i bought from you guys for my 2010 PK Ford Ranger (BT50).

It was such an easy fit it was GREAT!! Everything just plugged in with no fuss although it would have been good to have had up dated instructions letting us know that the wire looms were all just plug in instead of having to cut one wire for the map sensor but it is not a great big deal as the end result is astounding, what a different car!!

I have a close personal friend who is a PowerTrain engineer for Ford Australia, and was Very Impressed with the performance gains from the chip for the dollars spent ( we would be both be interested in seeing what your chip will do to the NEW V6 Turbo Diesel Ford Territory that is on its way)

I am already seeing savings on diesel as we gave it a big run Saturday and i have instantly seen an extra 100k’s (approx 720km/Tank 58ltrs) from a tank on the factory CHIP IT setting.

I now just want to get back to driving my new Animal, I LOVE IT!!

Overtaking is so much less daunting, I do a lot of country miles sometimes 500k a day. Both cars (Captiva and Triton ML) don’t tend to kick back as easily as they used to when going up hills on cruise control either.

Both vehicles are easier and more relaxing to drive. The delivery time was less than 24hrs! Unreal. After sales service and support has been excellent. I will happily promote your product where I can … love it!

Chip has been in for a couple of weeks now. I love it!!!

It’s a heaps better car to drive, fewer gear changes and fuel consumption has improved slightly after I stopped playing around … with a combined average of 8.9l/100km.

I had a 3 inch exhaust installed 2 weeks before the chip and noticed good improvements with that, then the chip made an incredible difference, I’ve set it to custom 2.

My brother-in-law is a service manager at a Holden dealer in Melbourne and he and his foreman were extremely impressed with the improvements.

I’m keen to put the boat behind it and see the difference.

Just a follow up from the previous post (below)……..

Have done over 1200kms so far with the Chip, EGR blank, MAP sensor connected to chip.

Have done a fuel test combined city and hwy (Sydney to Cessnock). 9.3 ltrs / 100 kms. Before Chip it I couldn’t get under 10′s.

Doesn’t make sense. does it … more torque and better fuel economy!!! Go figure!

To drive, the torque curve comes on smother and earlier. From 1500 rpm on is wild! Imagine this…. Behind a truck on a hill in forth doing 60kmh. Just plant the foot and its picks up, will just keep going. No need to change down.

For comparison…On the golden Hwy, between Jerrys Plains and Denman a steep climb after a sharp sweeping bend near Arrowfield winery. Before Chip It Module the 2.5 hp wouldn’t hold the hill at 100kmh in 5th gear on cruise control. It just ran out of torque at the lower revs. Now with Chip It Module and set on 100kmh in 5th it just flew straight up the hill no worries.

Been the best and most rewarding mod I have done. The vehicle is now fun to drive in many ways.

VEHICLE: 2.5 HP manual GLX-R running 32″ tyres………

Just put my Chip, MAP mod and EGR blank in last night. What can I say! Was very easy to install, Less than 15 mins.

I haven’t played with tunes yet but think mine is set on tune 4 ATM.

This thing now flies. Had no limp modes or engine lights etc. (Lots of care was taken to fit the plugs right)

Jumped in and went on a 400 k trip to Sydney last night. Still cant wipe the grin of my face. My missus recons we need a spare set of back tyres (truck does cherpies in second) and a neck brace. icon smile Testimonials

Seriously, it has made the truck so much easier to drive. First thing we noticed was how much quieter the engine is. The pickup in forth gear while over-taking B double’s etc is unreal … even up hill. Driving in the City is so much better too as we now have got rid of that horrible turbo lag.

Has so much torque I found myself short shifting the gears and still pulling away from the traffic.

If you floor it first and second the TC and ASC lights come on and the back end weaves side to side It’s the stock suspension winding up. This will be fixed when the Ultimate goes in.

Can’t comment accurately on fuel usage yet but have done over 500 kms so far and the fuel light is not on yet. I anticipate it will be doing mid nines.

As mentioned above, I haven’t played with the tunes yet and probably don’t need to.

Will be interesting how it does whilst towing.

Chip and EGR plate arrived yesterday, fitted EGR plate went for test drive felt great bit more power … all good. Fitted Chip It Module … started up idle felt so much better. ACS “off” and gave it a bit and WOW this car goes like a beast now. Tune level 4 only. I will do MAP Sensor hook up on the weekend, Thanks Guys.

Triton with full 3 inch system and chip

Hi Justin,
Finally got the car! What a machine I haven’t really given it to her properly yet, but from what I can feel so far its got loads a go in it. And thats with a tight engine. I had a 07 pathfinder before and so I know vaguely how these common rail 2.5 go like and I can say this has alot more. I’m still getting used to the quite noisy Triton engine compared to the Pathfinder, but what I have noticed is that when your foot is down and accelerating hard the diesel knock disappears and the engine goes really quiet, but goes like hell. I’m learning to get the best out of the engine with the correct gear/RPM selection if you know what I mean. So far I am a happy chappie!

All the gear arrived fine and I have fitted it all- wow what a difference. My 200 Series Cruiser just goes so much harder. I can tramp it from standstill and it will chirp all 4 Mickey’s !!

Here’s my Chipit story.

Having researched and been convinced by a satisfied customer I arranged with Rob to send me the box for my 2007 Pajero 3.2 Auto.

After lots of fun removing the common rail plug I managed to get it hooked up. However did get a read error on the dash (the motor thingy)  … didn’t read the instructions properly icon smile Testimonials .

After taking the vehicle to the test sight, (the rural road) and putting my foot down, I couldn’t believe the power and speed! I had also connected the Map.

After a good run I did notice idle was a bit rough. So Rob arranged for me to travel to Clarkson (WA),a round trip of about 300 ks.  Justin road tuned it in a flash. Loaded my personal tune on the Disc and fixed the dash thingy! What a gentleman. The vehicle goes like stink! Quieter too. On my return home, about 180ks, I averaged 8.7lts per 100! Never seen this before. Can’t wait to test my 2tonne work trailer and 23ft caravan.

So, thank you Mr Chipit and Justin in Clarkson. Real service, real quick, real quality. Finally, why would anyone purchase German stuff, no support, no tune!

Hi Chip It

After getting Chip It Chip fitted to my 2007 Nissan Patrol I noticed an immediate improvement in acceleration and general performance. I was able to easily keep up with the peak hour traffic and the fuel economy was slightly better than before fitting the Chip.

After the some custom tuning on the dyno the following week, the additional improvement was immediately noticeable. To the extent that I will need to fit better tyres to control the added power, especially in wet weather!

The fuel economy has also improved. I couldn’t be happier.

I will also keep you informed about my ongoing experience if that would be useful.

After fitment of Chip It in the 200 Series and heading home for the 300 km trip I immediately noticed the scangauge fuel consumption showed about 1.5 litres/100 km less than normal. I don’t tow a large heavy boat or caravan, I only tow a small dinghy plus a fair bit of gear behind the cargo barrier and only two up. So for me power was not the ultimate goal, but fuel economy is … and I certainly got that!

Dear Chip It.

It has been 1 month since you installed the 3 inch Manta exhaust and manual boost controller on my 3.2 diesel ML auto Triton. 2 weeks prior to this you had installed the Chip It Performance Chip. I am thrilled with the results. The vehicle performs well in normal traffic, freeway speeds, and while towing at the state limit. I needed to tow for 4 hours over the weekend involving driving up over the Darling Ranges. My altimeter registered a 250 metre elevation. The whole drive was relaxing and effortless due to the masses of torque now available. Overtaking slower traffic whilst towing was not the anxiety provoking event that it once was either! The exhaust system provides a throaty aggressive tone outside but it does not become intrusive into the cabin.

In my last testimonial when only the chip was installed, i called my transformed Triton a WRX. Now, with the exhaust and boost controller I would go as far as calling my triton a WRX STI in 4WD terms.

Finally had my truck on the beach again this weekend for the first time after fitting my chip earlier in the year. The chip makes a huge difference on the road, but on the sand you really notice all the extra torque. It was great fun. Got Custom Tune 1 from Justin loaded today with the map sensor connected. I thought it was great before (on tune 4 i think), but custom 1 is brilliant (maybe not for my rear tyres, or fuel consumption). I have a boost gague fitted, and the first thing i noticed was how much quicker the boost came on. It also peaks higher. and now I can increase the boost even more i cant wait icon twisted Testimonials Sounds bloody good when you put your foot down too, and I cant wait to hear it with a decent exhaust on it now.

Well my chip arrived today nicely packaged in a box. I went straight out and fitted it. Very simple and quick install. Started the truck and the little light on the unit started blinking as it should.

I reversed out the driveway placed it in 1st then off I went WHAT A F#$%ING difference only went up and down the road twice but WOW. I cannot wait till I go for a longer run.

The power is instant, and smooth.

Dear Chip It

I have been experiencing the change in my auto ML Triton 3.2 in the last 2 days with the Chip It performance module that you kindly installed. I cannot thank you enough. I never realised that a heavy 4WD could be so much fun to drive when it comes to outright power /torque. Nice and easy from idle to 2000 rpm. From 2400 rpm and above my WRX (TRITON) is a transformed animal. I literally feel all 573 newtons and the smile on my dial just broadens. It will jump instantly at lights with no more of the hesitation the stock vehicle had. Overtaking is now not an issue. Have not towed yet but with the torque at hand i know this will not be a drama. Your professionalism and the ease of access to yourself via phone was greatly appreciated. I am totally satisfied with the product and your suggestions of an additional manual boost controller and 3 inch exhaust system for more performance have made me greedy. I intend working on my wife for her blessing. Hope to contact you in the near future. I recommend Chip It to any prospective purchaser.

Driving home last night and pulled up at a set of lights first in middle lane, on my left a previous model liberty pulls up and on my right a V6 Hilux pulls up all kitted up with young guy in it.

I am thinking hmmmmm, will they or wont they, well guess what they did, they got the jump but I just hammered the throttle with no holding brake and the Tri just lurched forward and pulled past the Lux in know time I couldnt believe it and I dont think the subbie driver could believe it when I was up beside him with right of way and he could not slide in front of me in the merging lane as his intention was.

The guy on the right, doesnt matter whether he was a hilux driver or not, but he was pissed, I could tell because when I reached the posted 80k limit he eventually caught up sat on my ass then hooned past when I turned off.

The auto was a ripper in this instance.

So to sum up, this Chip it Module leaves the other Chips for dead.

OK the CHIP has been in now for a few days, went and filled the tank and reset the dash thingy (technical term), drove around in traffic and the economy showed 8.3L/100, then drove to Sydney – then out west of Sydney. Economy went up slightly to 8.7L/100. This is the best I have achieved even since getting the car new 1 year ago. On average I was getting 11.1L/100 around town and 12.2L/100 on the freeway.
How good is this chip!!!!!!
